Brisbane favourite and family-run restaurant Green Papaya is closing its doors forever on Sunday May 17 so make sure you get yourself over there to eat your favourite dish one last time.
It’s had an exceptionally successful run but now the family behind the Green Papaya Thai and Balinese Restaurant have decided to finish up and close the doors.
This is their final week and your last chance to get there and order your favourite dishes. Plus, to celebrate new beginnings and different directions, the team at Green Papaya are serving all entrees for $8 and all mains for $15.
Their master team of chefs have transported us (and our tastebuds) away for many an evening, taking us to far away lands for a night. The menu pulls inspiration from Thai and Balinese cooking and the selection of dishes includes everything from regal delicacies to modern incarnations, all made using only the best available produce.
The intimate space has been the location for countless special events and celebrations, and if the walls could talk, we’re sure the stories would be memorable.
However, perhaps you were more of a couch lover and relished the chance to eat such high quality takeaway food, simply by making a phone call. Now you’ll need to be looking for a new takeaway option. We wish you luck.
And in light of giving back and to give thanks for so many good years, Green Papaya have decided to donate $1 for every person that comes through the door to Red Cross to support their efforts in the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake.
Special mention for the fans of cocowhip, Green Papaya are offering a limited edition flavour for the last week they’re open so swing past and sample before it runs out.
Green Papaya is located at the corner of Potts and 898 Stanley St, Woolangabba. To avoid disappointment, make sure you call ahead to book a table on 3891 5000 as it’s expected to be very busy.
