Jamie Oliver’s highly anticipated Brisbane restaurant, Jamie’s Italian, has opened its doors in the heritage-listed Rowes Arcade on Edward Street.

Located across two levels and accomodating up to 240 guests, the split level restaurant features a stunning bar, ‘Queensland inspired’ leadlight glass features and a custom made chandelier, which sits alongside deep raspberry pink leather work and brass fittings to give the interior an urban feel.

The basement level features exposed original stone walls, leather banquette seating and lower ceilings to create a more intimate dining experience.

A set of Ferrari red pasta extruders, making hundreds of kilos of fresh pasta each week, will be situated in the middle of the restaurant for all to see.

“We hope that Brisbane patrons will revel in the modern twist on a historical design aesthetic and interactive dining experience where you can sit up at the antipasti bar and watch the chefs create items like the antipasti plank and salads,” says Karen Westfield, general manager of Jamie’s Italian Australia (the Brisbane location is the fifth Jamie’s Italian in Australia).

“It’s the perfect spot for all occasions, whether you’re after a quick express pasta for lunch (starting from $12.50) or the complete experience. A first for Jamie’s Italian in Australia, the Brisbane restaurant’s prep kitchen is flanked by glass walls allowing diners a sneak peek at what’s happening in the kitchen.”

In addition to the standard a la carte menu (created by Jamie Oliver and his lifelong mentor, Gennaro Contaldo), three feasts will be available.

Starting from $42, the set menus will offer a range of options, including what’s expected to be the restaurant’s most popular dish, Prawn Linguine, as well as Jamie’s polenta chips and special tiramisu.

The family-friendly restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcomed, but we’d recommend calling (07) 3144 3000 to make a booking.

Rowes Arcade is located at 237 Edward St, Brisbane City.
