Inspired by the 1920s and The Great Gatsby, Blackbird Bar & Restaurant offers fresh seafood to be enjoyed with exquisite views of Brisbane river
Blackbird, recently opened by the Ghanem Group, is made up of a restaurant and two bars.
The restaurant includes two private dining rooms, illuminated by chandeliers. The two bars are decorated appropriately to reflect the two elements of the 1920s era, ‘the light side’ and ‘the dark side’.
Nehme Ghanem of the Ghanem Group says no expense or attention to detail has been spared.
“The design features are amazing. There is an upturned bathtub filled with vintage crystal scotch decanters and created into a chandelier, a rug designed by Katherine Martin and used in The Great Gatsby, opulent chain walls and luscious booth style seating,” says Ghanem.
Blackbird’s menu is predominately made up of fresh seafood include Moonlight Flat oysters and Walkers Seafoods fish. A must-try on the menu is the ‘Bay Bug Club’ – a Moreton Bay bug with a light bisque aioli, jamon bacon and gem lettuce on soft bread.
