Established in 1971, Scarborough is 30 km north-northeast of Brisbane and is the northernmost point of the Redcliffe peninsula. The suburb was once a gateway to Moreton Island via the Combie Trader barge, but this operation ceased in 2008. The area is known for its sandy beaches, thriving seafood industry and views of Moreton Island. Some parts of 2002 comedy “Scooby-Doo”were shot at Queens Beach in Scarborough, with the majority filmed across the bay on Moreton Island.
