Nudgee is 13km north of Brisbane CBD and was part of the Toombul Shire Council until 1925 when it was absorbed by Brisbane City Council. The name Nudgee is believed to be derived from the Indigenous (Oondumbi/Undumbi clan) words “n’mugi” or “na’dah”, meaning the “home of wild ducks”. Today, Nudgee Waterhole Reserve is home to many ducks, turtles and birdlife.
