Greenslopes is 6km from Brisbane CBD. The name “Greenslopes” comes from references by passers-by of the “green slopes” of Frederick Wecker’s farm. Wecker, a German immigrant, was the first settler in the district. He was a respected local and instrumental in the development of the local area, pioneering vineyards and dairy farming in Queensland.
