Buccan was formerly a suburb of Beaudesert but has now been included in Logan City. It is a semi-rural suburb with residential properties amidst bushland settings on large acreages. The nearest services can be found in neighbouring Beenleigh, Logan Village and Waterford.
Buccan is home to the Buccan Conservation Park, a nature conservation area managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.
