Wes Anderson is back! Or at least he will be. Eventually.
The acclaimed director — of The Grand Budapest Hotel, Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums fame, just to name a few — has released the first details about his new film, Isle of Dogs.
Like Anderson’s 2009 effort, The Fantastic Mr Fox, Isle of Dogs will be a stop-motion animated feature — which means it could be a looooooong time until we see it on screen.
It’ll be worth the wait, though, because the film stars Bill Murray, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Scarlett Johansson, Edward Norton, Bob Balaban, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, F Murray Abraham, Harvey Keitel, Akira Ito, Akira Takayama, Koyu Rankin, Courtney B Vance, Liev Schreiber and Yoko Ono (yes, that Yoko Ono).
No release date has been announced, but Anderson has shared a brief, silent snippet of Ed Norton’s character in the video above.
Aside from announcing Anderson’s new movie, the video is actually promoting a raffle for Martin Scorsese’s film preservation organisation, the Film Foundation.
Anderson has teamed up with the Crowdrise platform for the contest, which gives entrants a chance to win a trip to London to tour the set of Isle of Dogs and voice a character in the film. The contest costs $10 to enter.
