See one of Disney’s most beloved animated films come to life.

The first full trailer for the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast gives us our first real look at Emma Watson’s enchanting take on Belle, and Dan Stevens’ CGI Beast.

The visually lavish production looks absolutely gorgeous, and all the major story beats seem to be present and accounted for in the trailer. Then there’s that massive cast — Watson and Stevens will be joined by Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Babette, Kevin Kline as Maurice and Audra McDonald as Wardrobe.

Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who was responsible for the songs in the 1991 animated classic, has re-recorded those songs for this remake, and penned three new musical numbers with lyricist Tim Rice.

Now we’ll just wait and see how director Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) handles the fact that the story is basically Stockholm Syndrome: The Musical

Beauty and the Beast will be released in Australia on Thursday 23 March 2017.
