This might just be the coolest bar on the planet right now — and it’s all because of the man behind the bar.

Actor and cult hero Bill Murray tended bar at the launch of New York bar and restaurant 21 Greenpoint on the weekend.

But before you go thinking the Ghostbusters star needed the tips, it turns out there’s an ulterior motive for his new gig — his son, Homer Murray, owns the bar.

“This is my firstborn son, Homer. I am so happy that he has not continued in the family business,” Murray said in a toast.

“Instead, he has taken the joy of the family to have a drink, and have a meal, and have friends together in one place, and made it his life’s work. To my son, and his friends, and his work friends and all of his partners.”

And it has begun. Bill Murray is in the house. #billmurray

Murray reportedly downed four tequila shots himself within the first five minutes of his bartending gig, before he got into his job with gusto, singing Rolling Stones tunes while he worked.

This wasn’t a one-off, either — Murray will reportedly be back behind the bar at 21 Greenpoint soon.

If Bill Murray showed up behind the bar at your local, what would you order? It’d have to be Japanese whisky, right?
