Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s infamous apology video is inspiring a slew of imitators, including this effort from The Katering Show hosts Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan.
The Kates picked up a huge overseas fan base when the first series of their hilarious web series, The Katering Show, was released on YouTube.
Now they’ve gone ‘legit’ with the second series of the show, which has been produced for ABC’s iView — meaning it’s only available in Australia.
You know how annoyed you get when a viral Comedy Central or Saturday Night Live video isn’t available to view in your location? That’s the anger that international fans of The Katering Show are feeling right now, which is why they’ve released the above video in the style of apologetic thespians Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
Stephen Colbert has also taken a sassy swipe at the video, doing a pretty damn spot-on impression of a contrite Johnny Depp in the process.
Oh, and then there was this great behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video…
In case you’ve somehow forgotten, this was what the original
hostage apology video looked like, in all its glory.
