Queensland police have charged a man with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a woman he knew at a home in the state’s far north.
A middle-aged man has been charged over the attempted murder of a woman he allegedly stabbed in the torso at a far north Queensland home.
The woman, 56, was taken from a house at Kowanyama, south of Weipa, to the local health clinic following the alleged attack on Saturday morning.
She was later flown to Cairns hospital where she is in a stable condition.
The pair knew each other, according to police but were unable to confirm their relationship.
The man has been charged with attempted murder and breaching a domestic violence order.
He is due before Cairns Magistrates Court on October 27.
