A naked man who allegedly attacked a female police officer as she attempted to arrest him in a busy Brisbane street has been granted bail.

Shocked onlookers called police around 9am (AEST) on Friday after watching the strange behaviour of Ethan Pick, 22, in Browning Street at West End.

One witness claimed Mr Pick had taken off his clothes earlier, before riding a bicycle into a car.

It’s alleged he repeatedly punched a female officer who was trying to apprehend him.

Pick was eventually subdued after he was shot with a stun-gun in front of witnesses who filmed part of the incident using a mobile phone camera.

Police say members of the public helped restrain him before the weapon was discharged.

Pick was charged with seriously assaulting police, two counts of wilful damage and other unrelated offences.

The 22-year-old appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon, where he was granted bail.

He will reappear in court next month.

The police officer was taken to hospital to be treated for concussion but has since been released.
