A group of about 30 protesters has chanted anti-government slogans before the prime minister’s arrival at the LNP state conference in Brisbane.

A small but vocal group of protesters has caused a minor disruption at the LNP state conference in Brisbane.

The group of about 30 people chanted anti-Tony Abbott slogans and engaged in pushing and shoving with security personnel outside Brisbane’s Royal Convention Centre, where the prime minister is set to give a speech on Saturday morning.

The protesters were unable to get into the building and Mr Abbott’s arrival was not disrupted as he was taken through a secure entrance.

Other senior members of the federal government, including Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, as well as Queensland Premier Campbell Newman, are also attending the conference.
