A Brisbane man is facing a raft of charges after police found a gun, silencer and ammunition in his car.

A man has been found with a handgun, silencer and ammunition in his car after specialist police pulled him over in Brisbane.

Tactical crime squad officers made the alarming find when they stopped the man’s car at Richlands on Sunday night.

A sawn-off rifle and more ammunition were found during a subsequent search of a property at nearby Forest Lake.

A 22-year-old man is facing a raft of charges including carrying a loaded weapon in public and possessing drug paraphernalia.

He’s due to face the Richlands Magistrates Court on August 4.
