Police are investigating reports alleging that bikies had sex with underage girls at a Hervey Bay clubhouse before it burnt down last year.
Outlaw bikies have been accused of using a clubhouse on Queensland’s Fraser Coast to have sex with underage girls.
Police are investigating a number of reports alleging that gang members sexually assaulted girls, aged under 16, at the Rebels Hervey Bay clubhouse before it burnt down last year.
Detective Inspector Bruce McNab says it appears some of the girls were paid in drugs, while others were drugged before unknowingly having sex with the bikies.
“The information we have is that the attacks were very traumatic for the young girls,” he told AAP.
Det-Insp McNab says investigators suspect the girls have been fearful of reporting the assaults to police because of standover tactics used by the bikies.
The alleged attacks were brought to police attention in the wake of Queensland’s anti-gang laws which offer incentives for members of the public to dob in outlaw bikies.
Police have received reports from a number of sources, but are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
