Police are searching for a 4WD that slammed into a police car in central Queensland before the driver sped away.
A man is on the run after ramming a four-wheel drive into a police car in central Queensland.
Police say the driver was pulled over on the Capricorn Highway at Comet on Friday afternoon but became agitated and drove away.
He then turned around and drove head-on into a stationary marked police car.
The only officer on scene, a 34-year-old male constable, was able to get out of the badly damaged vehicle before having to jump out of the way as the 4WD again drove toward the police car.
The 4WD then drove away and was later spotted near Woorabinda, but didn’t stop for police.
The constable wasn’t injured, but was taken to Blackwater Hospital for a check-up.
The vehicle, a white Toyota Landcruiser with registration 091 LBN, was still being sought on Saturday afternoon.
