A man has been charged after allegedly using a sword to attack two teenagers at a house in Queensland’s Darling Downs.

A man has allegedly used a sword to attack two teenagers at a house in Queensland’s Darling Downs.

A 15-year-old girl received cuts to her hand, while a 16-year-old boy sustained a large laceration to his back during the attack.

Police were called to the home at Watts Street, Maryvale, about 1am on Sunday after receiving reports that two youths had been attacked by a man armed with a sword.

Both teens were taken to Warwick Hospital for treatment, while a 54-year-old man was taken into police custody.

The youths and the man are known to each other, police say.

The man has been charged with two counts of common assault and one count each of wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He’s expected to face the Warwick Magistrates Court on Monday.
