A man has faced a Brisbane court, charged with the stabbing murder of a 16-year-old girl who died in northern Victorian more than 30-years-ago.
A Queensland man charged with murdering a Victorian teenager more than 30-years-ago will be extradited to Melbourne.
Steven James Bradley, 52, appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, charged with the murder of 16-year-old Michelle Buckingham in Shepparton in 1983.
The pet groomer and cleaner, dressed in a navy and red polo shirt, did not speak during the brief appearance.
Magistrate Chris Callaghan ordered that he be extradited to Victoria to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He was surrendered into the custody of Victorian detectives.
Duty lawyer Nick Hanly said Bradley would be flown to Melbourne later on Wednesday.
Michelle Buckingham was last seen leaving the Victoria hotel in Shepparton around 8.30pm on October 21, 1983, walking towards her home.
Her body was found on November 7, 1983, in long grass beside Violet Town Road in Kialla East, with multiple stab wounds to her back and chest.
Bradley was arrested earlier on Wednesday at a boarding house in Spring Hill in inner-Brisbane.
