Steven Lustica has completed his move back to the Brisbane Roar from Adelaide United.
Midfielder Steven Lustica will rejoin former Brisbane Roar teammates on Wednesday after completing a move from A-League rivals Adelaide United.
United were initially reluctant to release the 22-year-old but he signed a deal on Tuesday that will keep him with the ladder-leading Roar until the end of the 2015-16 season.
Lustica will be reunited with Mike Mulvey, who previously coached him at now defunct Gold Coast United and first brought him to Brisbane 12 months ago.
“There was an unexpected turn of events regarding Steven’s availability and we have the opportunity to add him to our squad now,” Mulvey said.
“Steven is a great professional who will add depth and experience to the playing group.”
Lustica spent the beginning of 2013 on loan to the Roar from Croatian club Hajduk Split, making 12 appearances and scoring two goals, before returning to Europe and then joining Adelaide United.
“I’m really happy to be back in Brisbane,” Lustica said.
“Since my time here last year, this club has been close to my heart and I’m glad to be playing here again.”
