WA wicketkeeper Tom Triffitt will front court on March 7 on stealing and wilful damage charges after being arrested by Queensland police.
Warriors wicketkeeper Tom Triffitt faces an uncertain future after being arrested early on Wednesday morning by Queensland police.
Triffitt was charged with two counts of stealing and one count of wilful damage over an early-morning incident that also involved teammate Tim Armstrong.
Armstrong wasn’t charged by police, but the pair have been stood down from Western Australia’s Futures League match against Queensland.
Triffitt is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrate’s Court on March 7.
“WACA Management will meet with both players before determining an appropriate course of action,” the WACA said in a statement.
Triffitt moved from Tasmania to Perth at the end of the 2011/12 campaign, but he struggled in his first season at the Warriors and hasn’t featured for WA’s main side this summer.
The 23-year-old is in the final season of his two-year deal, and might be cut loose at the end of the summer.
Allrounder Armstrong, 23, made just three and 11 in his two games for the Perth Scorchers this season in the Big Bash League.
