Former Fox Sports chief John O’Sullivan has been appointed the new managing director of Tourism Australia.
Fox Sports chief executive John O’Sullivan has been chosen to lead Australia’s tourism industry.
He’ll replace Andrew McEvoy as managing director of Tourism Australia (TA) from late March.
Mr O’Sullivan has held executive positions with Events Queensland and Football Federation Australia, and is a member of the Tourism Transport Forum Advisory Board.
TA chairman Geoff Dixon says Mr O’Sullivan is a respected businessman who has managed large firms and has a wealth of experience in the tourism and events industry.
This is the 4th MD for Tourism Australia in 10 years and John´s 4th Job in 5 years already. A perfect match? Both issues are red flags already. On top he has never been exposed to the global Marketing Environment of the world´s most competitive industry. Australia maybe an Island, but the horizon for this vital role should not be the same.
