Perth Glory have bolstered their midfield stocks with the signing of former Serbian under-21 international Nebojsa Marinkovic
Perth Glory have bolstered their midfield stocks with the signing of Serbian midfielder Nebojsa Marinkovic until the end of the 2014/15 A-League season.
The 27-year old is a former Serbian under-21 international who was developed through the youth academy at Partizan Belgrade and scored 13 goals in 34 games for them in the Serbian SuperLiga.
Over the past four years Marinkovic has played in the Israeli Premier League, most recently with Hapeol Haifa, where he scored 20 goals in 98 games.
“He distributes the ball well, has great skill and also one of the best long range shots I’ve seen in some time,” Glory coach Kenny Lowe said of the attacking midfielder.
“And he’s extremely dangerous from set pieces.”
Marinkovic arrived in Perth over the weekend and passed a medical on Monday.
He will be named in the squad for Sunday’s away clash with Western Sydney if he can receive his International Transfer Certificate in time.
Glory sit sixth on the table following last week’s 0-0 draw with Brisbane Roar.
