Three men stole food, pizza delivery bags, a small amount of cash and a mobile phone from a pizza delivery man, who was left bruised and swollen.

A pizza delivery man was kicked in the face and hit with a wooden stick as he was robbed by three hooded men on a Brisbane street.

The men stole food, pizza delivery bags, a small amount of cash and a mobile phone from the driver during the hold-up on Batman Street, Clayfield.

Police say the 27-year-old was returning to his delivery car when he was confronted by three men wearing dark pants and jumpers with the hoods pulled over their heads.

The group allegedly demanded money, with one pointing a knife at the pizza man, about 11pm (AEST) Friday.

The trio fled in a dark coloured sedan, which was last seen driving on Bonney Avenue towards Sandgate Road.

The pizza delivery driver suffered swelling and bruising to his knee and face.

Police are appealing for witnesses as they investigate the theft.
