The Queensland coroner investigating the deaths of Noelene and Yvana Bischoff in Bali has not given the family any time frame for the probe.
The Bischoff family still has no idea how long it will take to determine how Noelene and her daughter Yvana died in Bali.
The Queensland coroner is investigating the deaths on the Indonesian resort island earlier in January.
The pair became violently ill and died less than a day after checking in at the Padang Bai resort.
Noelene’s brother Malcolm Bischoff says the family has no idea how long the coroner’s investigation will take.
“I can’t say a lot because I don’t know a lot,” Mr Bischoff told AAP.
“They’re not telling us any finish date or anything because they don’t know yet.
“They said they just have to very thoroughly investigate every avenue they can. We’ll just have to wait.”
Noelene, a 54-year-old nurse, died in an ambulance on the way to a hospital in Denpasar. Yvana, 14, died hours later at a medical clinic without knowing her mother was dead.
Their bodies were flown back to Australia on Saturday morning.
