A-League leaders Brisbane will be without young defender James Donachie for Saturday’s clash with Melbourne Victory due to a groin injury.
Brisbane Roar coach Mike Mulvey faces a selection dilemma ahead of the A-League leaders’ clash with Melbourne Victory after James Donachie was ruled out of Saturday’s game.
Donachie has succumbed to a groin injury picked up during the Roar’s 5-2 win over Sydney FC on Boxing Day with Mulvey yet to decide who will take the 20-year-old’s place.
Rising star Corey Brown and former Victory player Diogo Ferreira are the two players in contention for the vacant spot and Mulvey took time out at training on Friday to speak with both players.
The Roar coach says he’ll mull his decision overnight before making a final call.
“We’ve tried a few things this morning,” he said.
“Other than that, it’ll be the same team.
“I’ve got an idea which way I want to go but I’ve just got to have a little think about it first.”
A win over the Victory could send the Roar seven points clear at the top of the ladder following Western Sydney’s home defeat by Wellington on New Year’s Day.
