Goalkeeper Michael Theo and defender Jade North have been ruled out of Brisbane’s A-League clash with Perth Glory.

A-League leaders Brisbane have suffered a double setback before Saturday’s A-League clash with Perth at Suncorp Stadium.

Goalkeeper Michael Theo has been scratched due to a shoulder injury while defender Jade North is being rested after complaining of tightness in his groin.

Youngster Matt Acton will debut for the Roar in goal, becoming the 100th player to represent the club.

“We’ve rested him for six days and we feel that if we get another six days rest in him, he’ll be ready for the game after,” coach Mike Mulvey said of Theo’s injury.

“It’s Matty Acton’s time to shine.”

James Donachie will come back into the Roar’s starting line-up in place of North, who had already just returned from a groin strain two weeks ago.

Mulvey said the decision to rest North was precautionary, ensuring his injury doesn’t worsen.

The Glory also have issues with Scott Jamieson and French star William Gallas ruled out with injury and Jacob Burns suspended.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 4.30pm AEST (1730AEDT).
