Pop superstar Adele has announced her first Australian shows.

The 28-year-old icon announced the tour with a handwritten note posted to her Twitter account.

“G’Day it’s me… I was wondering if after 10 years in the game you’d finally like to meet me in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide,” she tweeted. “Yep! I am coming Down Under.”

The powerhouse performer, who has sold over 1.7 million copies of her three albums in Australia alone, will play shows “in the round”, outdoors and in stadiums, in order to “see as many of you as possible”.

The news follows a mysterious 30-second TV spot that simply saw the singer open her eyes while her song Hello played, without revealing any tour dates.

Now it’s official. Adele will play the following dates in Australia:

28 February — Domain Stadium (Perth)
4 March — The Gabba (Brisbane)
10 March — ANZ Stadium (Sydney)
13 March — Adelaide Oval (Adelaide)
18 March — Etihad Stadium (Melbourne)

Tickets to the Brisbane show will go on sale on Monday 21 November at 10am AEST at live.adele.com.
