An Indonesian clothing company has apologised (kind of, not really) for printing sexist washing instructions on sports jerseys.
If there’s one day you don’t want to be scrutinised for sexist washing labels, it’s probably International Women’s Day.
The print on the Salvo Sports label reads: “Washing instructions: Give this shirt to a woman. It’s her job.”

The company offered an apology on Sunday (which just so happened to be International Women’s Day — nice one, guys) after the huge backlash on social media.
Salvo tweeted: “The message is simple. Instead of doing it the wrong way, you might as well give it to a lady because they are more capable.”
They ended their apologetic tweets with “But we apologise for any misinterpretation so apologise profusely.”
So glad that “misinterpretation” was cleared up…
