The one and only Paul McCartney has announced a show at Suncorp Stadium.

Paul McCartney — two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, 21-time Grammy Award winner, recipient of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and probably the most celebrated pop musician on the face of the planet — is bringing his One On One tour to Australia.

His first Australian and New Zealand tour in 24 years will bring him to Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland.

“We’ve been waiting to get back to Australia and New Zealand for years and now it’s finally happening,” McCartney said in a statement.

“It is very exciting. I’m really looking forward to the concerts as we’ve always had such a brilliant time whenever we’ve been here before so we know we are in for a treat. Can’t wait to see you and all rock out together.”

McCartney’s One On One tour launched in the United States in 2016, and has seen him play 41 shows across 12 countries to more than 1.2 million people.

The tour celebrates his entire career, from his earliest work with The Quarrymen through to his recent collaboration with Kanye West and Rihanna, taking in plenty of treasures from his Beatles, Wings and solo days along the way.

Featuring McCartney’s band of the last 10+ years — Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums), the show is said to utilise state-of-the-art audio and video technology to ensure an unforgettable experience for every seat in the house, with massive screens, lasers, fireworks, and, obviously, some of the best songs ever written or performed.

Paul McCartney will play Suncorp Stadium on Saturday 9 December. The Frontier Members pre-sale will be held from Thursday 29 June to Friday 30 June; tickets will go on sale to the general public from 2pm on Tuesday 4 July at
