One of pop’s most captivating talents is back with a new album and a new live show.

Lorde’s Melodrama tour will kick off in her home country of New Zealand, before heading to Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, as well as a headline slot at Canberra’s Spilt Milk Festival.

The artist, known to her mates as Ella Yelich-O’Connor, burst onto the scene in 2013 when she was just 16 years old, winning two Grammy Awards — including Album of the Year — for her debut effort, Pure Heroine.

The LP topped charts in over 20 countries, on the back of instant classic singles like ‘Royals’, ‘Tennis Court’ and ‘Team’.

That sort of success puts a hell of a lot of pressure on Lorde’s follow-up, Melodrama, out 16 June through Universal Music.

But, judging from what we’ve heard so far in new tracks ‘Green Light’, ‘Perfect Places’, ‘Liability’ and ‘Sober’, she’s on to another winner.

Fresh off live performances on Saturday Night Live and at Coachella, Lorde will return to the Antipodes this November.

Lorde will play an all-ages show at Brisbane Riverstage on Thursday 23 November. Frontier Members pre-sale tickets will be available from 12 noon this Wednesday 14 June; tickets will go on sale to the general public from 12 noon on Monday 19 June at ticketmaster.com.au.
