Never Mind the Buzzcocks star Phill Jupitus is bringing his new show, Juplicity, to Brisbane.
The stand-up comedian, poet, improviser and TV stalwart will present over an hour of tales, laughs and diversions at the Sit Down Comedy Club.
Jupitus is best known for his role as a team captain on BBC2’s pop music quiz,
Spicks and Specks Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Jupitus was part of the show from its inception in 1996 all the way through to its untimely demise in 2015.
Jupitus was also a frequent guest on that other iconic BBC quiz show, QI, where he made a habit of mimicking host Stephen Fry.
Since Buzzcocks wrapped, Jupitus has been making his living on the stage. He toured the UK and Ireland with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2016, and also appeared in the Bath Theatre Royal production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream last year. He has also starred in a touring production of Mel Brooks’ The Producers as Franz Liebkind.
His new stand-up show, Juplicity, wrings laughs out of the chaos of his life, and the uncertain world that surrounds it.
Expect adult themes and situations, delivered childishly.
Phill Jupitus will play the Sit Down Comedy Club (The Paddo Tavern, 186 Given Terrace, Paddington) on Thursday 27 April. For tickets, visit standup.com.au.
