Following a sold-out tour in 2015, Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox are bringing their vintage twist on modern pop songs back to Australia.

The ever-growing collective of performers known as PMJ now has a roster of over 70 rotating cast members.

They’ve spent the past few years amassing nearly 500 million YouTube views and two million subscribers, performing on Good Morning America, topping iTunes and Billboard charts, and playing hundreds of shows to packed houses around the world.

The group takes contemporary hits and re-imagines what they might have sounded like if they’d been released in an earlier era.

Here are a few of our favourite Postmodern Jukebox clips…

Scott Bradlee, the mastermind behind the group, continues to pick the songs, create the arrangements and design their spectacular live shows, despite the group’s massive size.

Bradlee ensures they post a new video each week, recorded in the casual environment of his living room.

“I posted the first video in 2009,” Bradlee says. “I was broke and living in Queens, NY. Seven years later, we’ve amassed two million subscribers, we’ve sold out shows across four continents and we’ve become a showcase for an incredible group of performers.

“Every single one of our cast members has unique superpowers and I take pride in putting together the best combination of abilities and personalities to create an amazing experience for our fans.

“We want them to escape reality and join us for the most sensational 1920s party this side of The Great Gatsby. We want them to experience what it was like to be at the New Years’ Eve show that Sinatra would have hosted in the 1940s.

“We want them to feel the excitement of hearing the greats of Motown live and up close… and a Postmodern Jukebox show is the only place you can experience all of this and more in one night.”

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox will perform at the Plaza Ballroom at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Friday 16 September. Pre-sale tickets will be available from Tuesday 31 May and general tickets will go on sale on Thursday 2 June at
