Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, the tenacious attorneys and unlikely heartthrobs who won the hearts of viewers around the world in the Netflix documentary series Making A Murderer, are coming to Brisbane.

Making a Murderer has been hailed as one of the most important documentary series ever made, and attorneys Dean Strang and Jerry Buting emerged as two of the most compelling figures from the show.

Now they’re bringing their speaking tour to Australia in November, including a night in Brisbane.

The tour will involve the two attorneys in conversation about the Steven Avery case and its broader implications, and will also feature the pair in a moderated discussion regarding the systematic failures of the criminal justice system. This will include a Q&A giving the audience a unique opportunity to address questions with both Strang and Buting.

Criminal justice — and the inadequacy of the system in the United States — has never been a hotter topic than it is right now, with the the likes of Making a Murderer, The Jinx, the podcast Serial and The People v OJ Simpson all making for compelling water cooler conversation.

Dean Strang and Jerry Buting will appear at QPAC on Sunday 6 November. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Tuesday 19 April, with My Live Nation and ticket agent pre-sales available from 10am Monday 18 April. For more info, visit
