South Brisbane’s most iconic laneway is gearing up to host a day of drinking, dancing and dining, and soon-to-be resident Gelato Messina is popping in for a preview.
Nestled between Merivale and Grey Street, Fish Lane is where the electic character of West End collides with the culture and creativity of South Bank.
It’s undergone quite the transformation over the last few years, becoming one of Brisbane’s best dining and drinking districts.
If you haven’t discovered it yet, you’ll never have a better chance than the Fish Lane Festival, which is bringing together the who’s who of the local music, foodie and bar community.
You’ll be able to check out emerging local music acts across two stages; unwind with craft beer, cocktails and top-shelf wines; and sample signature dishes and gourmet eats from celebrated local eateries.
The festival has curated a select group of culinary pop-ups from the area’s most popular restaurants and bars, including Billy Kart Kitchen, Bird’s Nest Restaurant, Fish Lane Bistro, Gauge, Habitat, Julius Pizzeria, Madame Wu, Maker, The Fox Hotel and The Gun Shop Cafe.
Then there’s that special cameo appearance from gelato gods Gelato Messina, who are set to open in the Fish Lane dining precinct later this year. They’ll be serving up their famous whimsical flavour combos, widely considered the best in Australia, for Brisbane’s ice-cream loving masses.
Presented by Aria Property Group and The Fox Hotel, Fish Lane Festival will be held on Saturday 7 May from midday to 10pm. Entry is free and all ages are welcome.
