Over 150 Zumba lovers will come together this weekend, for the Gold Coast’s biggest Zumba Charity Party since 2011.

Held on Saturday 20 February at Broadbeach Waters on the Gold Coast, the two hour Zumba Charity Party will see over 25 Zumba instructors perform a range of dance routines – all for a good cause.

One of the event’s organisers, Selina Wincott says it will be the biggest Zumba class seen on the Gold Coast since the 2011 Zumbathon for the Brisbane Flood Relief Appeal.

“We are a bunch of 25 plus instructors all banding together and sharing the Zumba love for a very worthy cause, very close to our hearts,” she says.

“A fellow Zumba instructor, Juels, needs our help right now as her husband, Glen, has been diagnosed with Cancer. As a team if we can help one of our family (members) in some way then we will.”

“We are doing this because we can and the support has been absolutely amazing.”

The event will feature an one and half hour Zumba class, followed by raffles and prize giveaways. Selina says the atmosphere on the day will be electrifying.

“It’ll be full of fun, energy, inspiration and motivation!”

“Businesses from near and far have very generously offered their products as raffle prizes and so far we have over 25 amazing prizes, including three 7 day holidays!”

Now, if you don’t know what Zumba is, it’s an aerobic style fitness program inspired by Latin American dance.

The fitness program which is used all over the world incorporates rhythms and dance styles from around the globe, including Salsa, Reggaeton, Cumbia, Merengue, and hip-hop. Basically, you get a great workout while having heaps of fun!

If you are thinking of coming along to the Zumba Charity Party this weekend, but you’ve never done Zumba before, don’t worry!

“Anyone can join in, you don’t have to have done Zumba before,” Selina says.

“There are many newbies interested it in, you just have to come and try!”
