South Bank’s Christmas Markets presented by eatSouthBank are returning to town this December, bringing along Christmas cheer, fun and incredible festive treats.
Held from 11 to 23 December, visitors can stroll the cobbled streets of Stanley Street Plaza to discover a truly magical Christmas market with a distinctly Brisbane twist.
Stalls will be bursting with the wares of local makers and producers, tempting shoppers with everything from decadent puddings, fairytale gingerbread houses and mouth-watering fudges to gourmet relishes. Delicious!
There will also be fragrant pine trees, twinkling fairy lights and live entertainment from carollers and musicians to enhance your visit.
Make a list then check it twice – you’re sure to find something for the whole family in the Market’s Gifting Lane.
Browse handmade gift cards, jewellery and accessories; women’s and children’s outfits, locally-designed homewares and of course toys and games for all ages.
Keep a lookout for special treats from master patissier, Adriano Zumbo or grab a snack from South Bank eateries including Doughnut Time and Nitrogenie.
Take a break and sip on a glass of eggnog or iced tea from one of South Bank’s restaurants and bars.
Then, make room for dinner with a spin on the pedal-powered Christmas tree! Challenge your family and friends to a race and work together to illuminate the four metre tall tree all the way to the tip of the star. How many will it take to light it?
When your gift list is all checked off, spread a little more cheer by taking your gifts to the charity gift wrapping stations.
A small donation will save you time, and make a difference to a local charity helping Brisbane people in need. Wrapping stations will be manned by volunteers from Youngcare and Hummingbird House.
The markets are open from 11am to 8pm daily, except from 17 to 21 December when opening hours are extended until 9pm.
Top off a day or night of shopping with South Bank’s other free family-friendly Christmas entertainment, including movies at Streets Beach, carols, fireworks and more.
