Brisbane Powerhouse will welcome dozens of International and Australian comedians to its stages next year as part of the Brisbane Comedy Festival.

2016’s Brisbane Comedy Festival is set to be bigger, better and more hilarious than ever, with some really big names lined up to perform next year from Saturday 27 February to Wednesday 23 March.

Brisbane Comedy Festival features an extensive mix of comedy, from international stalwarts Danny Bhoy, David O’Doherty and Tom Green to Australian household names Wil Anderson, Tom Gleeson and Peter Helliar. Audiences can take a trip back in time with Damian Callinan to WW1, board Titanic: The Movie The Play or get to know their locals in Brisbane Born and Bread.

Popular as-seen-on-TV comedians in 2016’s program include Frank Woodley, Celia Pacquola, Hannah Gadsby, Mel Buttle, Sam Simmons, Tom Ballard, trio Aunty Donna, Dave Thornton, David Quirk, Cam Knight, Adam Richard, Anne Edmonds and Nazeem Hussain.

Satire, whimsy and observational humour are also on offer from Rhys Nicholson, Nick Cody, Sam Campbell, Rowena Hutson, Damien Power, Danny McGinlay, Greg Larsen, Harley Breen, Heath Franklin’s Chopper, Matt Okine, Steen Raskopoulos, Steve Hughes and Tommy Little.

Comedy fans can also enjoy one-liners and side-splitting stories with up-and comers Becky Lucas, Sam Campbell, Gen Fricker, Jude Perl and Laura Davis.

Comedy groups at this this festival include ImproMafia presenting Martini Time and Not 4 Kidz and Act/React’s Titanic: The Movie The Play.

On Fridays and Saturdays during the festival audiences can check out the new Lucky Dip sessions at 10pm – a one-hour set which features a variety of comedians. Tickets are $15 and the line-up is announced daily.

The festival will kick off with a double bill at Brisbane City Hall – the Brisbane Comedy Festival Gala on 27 February 2016 and the Sunday Showdown on 28 February 2016.
