Brisbane is brimming with American cuisine and restaurants raring to put on a show for Independence Day. So don your stars and stripes and join the party!

Independence Day celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence which took place on 4 July, 1776. In America it’s a time for celebration with barbeques, carnivals, fireworks and parades. But, why leave all that celebrating to the Americans? Here’s a list of what’s happening around Brisbane on the 4th of July.

South Side Diner

Head down to Greaser if you’re looking for a night of music, American beer and a greasy BBQ. This Independence Day, Greaser is hosting an All-American Tailgate Party from 4pm. The tap will be taken over by American beers and the Pop-Up Greaser BBQ will be serving up the best of American food.

The American Mountain Burger will also be available, where you’ll be able to choose from 2X2, 3X3 or 4X4 beef patties. And, live music will keep you partying into the night with music from 52 Pick Ups, Love Signs, Teen Sensations and The Rehbein Brothers.

This Independence Day Shady Palms is hosting a Kentucky Derby Party. Serving tasty Nuevo-American cuisine, the Stones Corner restaurant will by celebrating the day in style. There will be a prize for best hat and jockey outfit. And anyone who is game enough to dress up as a horse gets a free Dinner for two and a jug off any of the taps.

Miss Kay’s will be kicking off Independence day from 3pm. Join them for an American extravaganza of a day filled with burgers, beers, games and good tunes. The house band and party DJ’s will be spinning some classic mo-town hits whilst you feast on Miss Kay’s range of burgers and compete in the Beer Pong Tournament.
