After completing his seventeen sold-out arena dates across Australia and New Zealand, Ed Sheeran caved in to the overwhelming demand and confirmed he will be back in the country in November.
Recently named as Spotify’s most-streamed artist in the world, Ed Sheeran is clearly not short of fans. And it appears has plenty of devoted followers in Australia with the news that he will be back to tour (that’s twice in the one year).
This time around, he is playing stadiums and kicks off the entire tour right here in Brisbane on November 28 before heading down to Sydney, Melbourne, then across to Perth and back to Auckland. This is Sheeran’s first time playing in such large venues and he will become the first ever musician to perform an Australian and New Zealand stadium tour entirely solo. This means that every single sound on stage will be produced by his voice, his guitar and a series of loop pedals.
If that’s not impressive enough, take a look at his touring schedule and you’ll instantly want to take a nap. It is extensive and covers most of the globe. The Grammy-nominated Brit’s will perform more than 170 shows and will be making appearances at Glastonbury Festival, T in the Park and Southside Festival. Plus he also sold-out both London’s Wembley Stadium and New York’s Madison Square Gardens three times over.
If you’re not a Ed Sheeran fan here in Australia, you are in the minority as his sophomore album ‘x’ was Australia’s highest-selling album of 2014.
Ed Sheeran will be back in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday November 28. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on May 5. For more information, check out our event guide listing.
