You can earn a ticket to watch the Queensland Reds take on the New South Wales Waratahs in the Super Rugby, just by helping out in your community.
The St George Foundation is calling on Queenslanders to donate a few hours of their time this June, in return for a ticket to a highly anticipated clash between the Reds and the Waratahs.
Several St George Queensland Reds will be chipping in and doing their part, helping to clear gardens, paint buildings, mow lawns and volunteer with community organisations across Brisbane.
“Queenslanders are known for chipping in when there is a job to be done,” says Reds captain James Horwill, “and that’s what this initiative is all about. These community projects are the ones that really need our help.
“The team will be getting behind it and to top off a great display of community spirit, St George will thank all volunteers with a ticket to the season’s final Super Rugby home game, when we take on the New South Wales Waratahs on 12 July.”
So, what do you actually have to do to earn your ticket? There are a number of jobs on offer, from much needed landscaping for McIntyre’s Riding for the Disabled Centre in Pinjarra Hills, to painting Ashgrove’s Picabeen Community Centre and stocking shelves for OzHarvest, who rescue excess food and deliver it to people in need.
Everyone who participates in the initiative will earn a reserved seat in the exclusive ‘Join the team’ section for the final Reds home game of the season at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday 12 July.
