This Sunday the Normanby Hotel is bringing Coachella to Brisbane when its car park in transformed into a music lovers fiesta…
The Normanby Hotel’s annual free music event, dubbed the 5 Ways festival, will take place this Sunday 8 June.
The festival will see five massive parties across five different stages, showcasing everything from hip hop to live acoustic.
An expected highlight of the day will be the Russian Standard High Five Shootout, where guests can compete for an all-expenses paid trip for two to the American music festival Coachella, worth $5,000.
The Normanby’s marketing manager Cameron Morton says each year they strive to make the 5 Ways festival bigger and better.
“There’s no other venue in Brisbane that can transform its space into a music festival with five parties across five stages and offer activations such as the high five shoot where patrons are suspended 10 stories high competing for a prize worth $5,000,” says Morton.
“This year we’re creating even more of a festival experience with the inclusion of gourmet food markets.”
Hotel general manager Nicko Ivano says the high voltage festival attracted over 10,000 guests last year.
“This year with extended trading until 5am, we’re expecting close to 15,000,” says Ivano.
“If you’re a festival head then you’ll want to be at 5 ways – entry’s free.”
The 5 Ways lineup includes Gold Coast hip hop duo Mr Hill & Rahjconka, Mashd N Kutcher, Antiheros, Rave Radio, as well as 40 other live acts and local DJs.
