To coincide with Queensland Week, the Eumundi Markets will join in the celebrations with a day of free family fun…
Celebrate Queensland @ Eumundi Markets will be a morning of fun and festivities on Saturday 7 June from 10am to 12:30pm.
Eumundi Markets manager Peter Homan says everyone will be getting their ‘Queensland on’ to celebrate the things we love about living in the sunshine state.
“Our program will be jam packed with family fun and games, with everything from pony rides and working dog shows to pineapple throwing and thong toss competitions,” says Homan.
“The biggest throws of the day stand to win a $100 voucher to spend at the markets.
“And make sure you’re here at 10am for a free morning tea featuring the biggest lamington Eumundi’s ever seen, along with billy tea, sugar cane juice and a sausage sizzle.”
The morning will also feature:
- ‘Welcome to Country’ and Indigenous story-telling by Lyndon Davis and the Gubbi Gubbi dancers
- Historic display by Discover Eumundi Heritage
- Re-enactment of the Queensland Proclamantion reading, led by Councillor Greg Rogerson
- Display from Buderim Ginger
- Lots of live music
The festivities can be found at the Eumundi Amphitheatre, adjacent to the Eumundi Markets.
