The Australian premiere of The Effect comes to Queensland Theatre Company this June.
The Effect is coming to Brisbane, and so is its myriad of brilliant actors.
The cast includes Anna McGahan, recently seen in House Husbands and Underbelly: Razor; AFI Award-winning Angie Milliken; Eugene Gilfedder, straight from the Macbeth set, and acclaimed Sydney-based actor, Mark Leonard Winter.
Directed by Sarah Goodes, the story follows the life of Connie (McGahan) — a psych student — as she plays guinea pig to a new, super anti-depressant and meets a boy along the way.
The predicted storyline takes place with a twist that could interfere with the entire experiment.
Language warning, though — this adult-friendly tale was not created with children in mind.
The Effect is written by Lucy Pebble, the author of the hit Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
The Effect will run from June 7 to July 5 at the Billie Brown Studio at QTC.
Tickets are available at queenslandtheatre.com.au or by calling 136 246.
