Enjoy crepes, champagne, can-can dancing and the chance to win a trip to Paris at this year’s Brisbane French Festival.
Oh la la! South Bank is set to host the Brisbane French Festival from July 12 – 13, in commemoration of La Fête Nationale.
The two day event will feature an array of French culture that will have you surrounded by the fine cuisine, wine, music, purchasable goods and entertainment.
French music, fashion parades, and cooking shows will also surround the South Bank Parklands and river side.
Guests will have the chance to enter a raffle with major prizes including a trip to Paris and a luxurious weekend at the Brisbane Sofitel.
Brisbane French Festival Committee Vice President Thibaut Guigues says for the first time, the festival pavilion will showcase the diversity of French wines and their associated geography.
“The Pavilion will give facts about each region and will be a good introduction to French wine jargon and names,” says Guigues.
“Whether you are interested in champagne bubbles, the dry white of the Alsace or the classic Bordeaux, you can discover more about each region.”
Opera Queensland’s La Boheme will open the festival with a performance on the Saturday.
