Alex Perry, Camilla and Marc and Carla Zampatti will join a contingent of young designers at Melbourne Fashion Festival next month.
Australia’s finest in fashion will be flocking to Victoria for the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, taking place between 17 and 23 March.
The annual festival showcases over 100 of Australia’s best designers including Bec & Bridge, Josh Goot, Ellery, Sass & Bide, Kahlo, Thurley and Trelise Cooper.
Graeme Lewsey, Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival CEO, says that this year will include a program of free, as well as ticketed events, for the public to enjoy.
“The program will awaken the senses and expose consumers to new ideas, promising a love and appreciation for our Australian fashion industry,” says Lewsey.

The Future Runway is a new initiative, calling on 60 of Victoria’s design students to deliver a runway show without creative or commercial restrictions.
“The Future Runway hopes to inspire and motivate students at this level, providing them with a taste of the industry,” says Lewsey.
L’Oréal Paris and SHOP Til You Drop will be holding several beauty workshops throughout Melbourne city, to give festival attendees the chance for a pampering.
There will also be workshops and seminars, as part of the Business Event Series, which will explore relevant topics to the fashion industry.
Both business and fashion leaders will discuss topics such as branding, global consumer behaviour, e-commerce and experiential retail.
“Developing engaging fashion and cultural events, and a program of seminars that tackle economic challenges, has been a feat that we at the Festival are truly proud of.”
Tickets for runway events begin at $50, and are available through Ticketek.
