The Box Gallery will celebrate its last art exhibition in West End this month: The Last Day in Paradise.

Sadly The Box is closing its doors this month and ‘Last Day in Paradise’ is The Box’s last art and music event beginning 19 January.

The Box is an artist-run initiative providing the West End and greater Brisbane community with dynamic events of all varieties. The space is versatile and adaptable and plays host to live music, workshops, exhibitions, launches, music rehearsals, cultural events and a plethora of other projects.

After a wonderful year and a half of collectives, collaborations, events and exhibitions, the tough decision has been made to wind up The Box at it’s space in West End. The Box plans to focus on more popup style shows, collaborating with venues, artists and curators all over the city.

The chosen theme is based around the iconic Box backyard mural, ‘Welcome to Paradise’ created by signwriter/fine art duo, Frank & Mimi.

The closing ‘Last Day in Paradise’ exhibition will feature art created on Ukelele’s by 27 of The Box’s favourite Australian artists and will finish up with a Tropicana themed closing party on 25 January, featuring music and performances by some awesome local acts.

The chosen theme is based around the iconic Box backyard mural, ‘Welcome to Paradise’ created by signwriter/fine art duo, Frank & Mimi.

All 27 uniquely designed Ukuleles will be for sale, and on display the week before and the night of the closing event.
