This production includes large exquisite sets and detailed costumes, which are sure to transport audiences under the sea. There is the Deep Ocean Jazz Trio, a drumming turtle and a piano playing octopus.
The performance will be brought to Brisbane audiences from January 22 2014 and is choreographed by Artistic Director Timothy Brown, showcasing Queensland’s finest young dancers aged 9 to 17 years.
All of the young stars had to audition for the roles in the production and there will be two alternate casts performing.
“It has been a joy and a privilege to be working with these talented young dancers,” declares Brown. “They all show a dedication to the art of ballet beyond their years.”
The Little Mermaid is the second production for Brown, a graduate of the Australian Ballet School, who joined BTQ as Artistic Director in 2012.
This magical production of The Little Mermaid will be on display during the Summer holidays at the Conservatorium Theatre, South Bank.
