Tamworth artist Joanne Stead is excited to be bringing a unique exhibition of over 50 of her whimsical, inspirational works of art and poetry to Brisbane as part of her exhibition at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital opening on 22 August.
“I always find my inspiration in my daily life, and then I re-frame those moments into everyday magic with a subtle humour and uplifting and whimsical slant,” she said.
For this exhibition Joanne has paired each artwork with poetry to bring a distinctive and unique feel to the collection.
“Within the hospital ArtSpace, my hope is that each work will inspire or bring joy and wonder to the hospital staff, patients and their families. The world is a scary place these days, the news is full of stories that make us wonder about where we are heading as an international community, and here in the hospital, people are facing other levels of personal anxiety. My exhibition will give those people who need some time out, plenty of opportunities to meditate or practice mindfulness within the ArtSpace, with this beautiful blend of arts disciplines,” Joanne said.
The official opening will take place at 5:30pm on the 22nd of August, with the exhibit open to the public after that.
