What may be the grimmest event on the Brisbane beer calendar is set to return this year, with those beery demons from the Scratch Bar holding their annual Weekend of Darkness festival from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 July.
The festival will celebrate its fourth incarnation this year, set to boast the biggest, boldest and darkest line-up of beers to date.
With 30 different offerings across the 2 days and 3 nights, beer fans from even the darkest crevasses of the nether world will be delighted by all manner of ales, stouts, porters, imperial monsters, barley wines and barrel aged beasts from all corners of the globe.
Shank Brothers BBQ will be hanging out on Saturday and Sunday in the ‘Burger-tory’, cooking up good food for damned people. Enjoy dishes like Wagyu Me To Hell, a wagyu cheese burger topped with onion, pickles, jack cheese, ketchup and mustard; The Exor-Brisk, smoked beef brisket with Asian slaw, pickles and BBQ sauce and the Shroom 237, smoked field mushroom with Asian slaw, pickles and BBQ sauce. YUM!
There will be a special dark preview on the Friday night, and 4 sessions across the weekend.
This event is in no way for the faint-hearted, and all who attend do so at their own risk!
